Routine maintenance will keep your car in good running order and can even extend the life of your car. Beyond preventative maintenance, even the most reliable car will eventually need to have certain parts fixed or replaced due to normal wear and tear. It's important to know how to choose a reputable mechanic so that you aren't taken advantage of. You'll also need to decide where to take your car for repairs and service - a dealer or an independent mechanic.

Having issues with repeated repairs?

If your new car has been in the shop because you've been unable to get a problem corrected after a reasonable number of attempts, you may be eligible for a refund or a replacement under Georgia's Lemon Law. New motor vehicles are covered under the law for the first 24 months after the delivery date or the first 24,000 miles of the consumer's use, whichever comes first.

On the other hand, if your car is older, it may be time to think about whether it's worth repairing it, or if you'd be better off selling it.
